Gettysburg: The Battle
Presented by Gary Augustine
For the three days in early July 1863, 170,000 soldiers engaged in a battle President Abraham Lincoln immortalized in a short address five months later. These brave volunteers, some clad in blue, some in gray, each believed their cause right. Among the farms, fields, orchards, and hills surrounding this small town, the battle between these dedicated men swayed until 54,000 of them were dead, wounded, missing, or captured. Join the speaker in exploring the battle’s maneuvers and tactics and how the extraordinary devotion and heroism of these men forever shaped American history.
