Wellness Programs – Meet Bill Burtner
Sherwood Oaks’ approach to wellness seeks to provide a wide range of programs and services that address all aspects of feeling alive and well. Our programs address the emotional, intellectual, social, physical, spiritual, and vocational aspects of life.
Our Fitness Center offers Keiser exercise machines which promote strength and flexibility. In addition, our fitness equipment includes treadmills, NuStep recumbent steppers, and our Cyber Cycle virtual stationary bicycles. You can also improve your balance with our Biodex interactive balance trainer. Perhaps the most helpful resource is our Health and Fitness Instructor who is certified by the American College of Sports Medicine and can help you achieve your wellness goals.
Other features offered in the Fitness Center include:
- Tai Chi and yoga classes that provide relaxation, stress reduction, lowered blood pressure and improved balance
- Therapeutic massage offered by a certified massage therapist
- Swimming in a 20-by-40-foot indoor pool heated to 86 degrees. Great for therapeutic exercise, especially for those with arthritis
Social Programs
The social programs at Sherwood Oaks also underscore our philosophy of whole-life wellness.
