Additional Features

Plot gardens on Sherwood’s campus are available for gardeners to plant flowers and vegetables. This is in addition to the garden space around your patio home.

Another amenity offered to Sherwood residents is use of our Oak Lodge, a separate building that has 5 guest rooms that can be reserved for the overnight stays of friends and relatives, as well as a large meeting space available for private parties.

If you are thinking about living at Sherwood Oaks, you can get a first-hand look at the lifestyle of our retirement community through the “Try It, You’ll Like It” program. The marketing office will provide you with a free overnight stay in the Oak Lodge and will arrange for you to meet with residents for meals, activities and programs.

Sherwood Oaks Library Catalog

Our library collection has over 7,000 books selected to meet all of your recreational and informational needs. Located on the lower level of the Center, the library has comfortable seating, abundant lighting, and a wide selection of magazines and newspapers including The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times.

A separate paperback collection of over 1,000 books is available to borrow on an honor system. This is a self-serve library; but volunteer library staff are available to assist residents most mornings from 10 a.m. – noon.

Books can be reserved or renewed on-line from home using our automated library catalog.
